Republicans & Pork

With the exception of a tiny band of GOP senators led by Tom Coburn, R-OK, and Jim DeMint, R-SC, and House Minority Leader John Boehner, Republican Study Committee chairman Jeb Hensarling and the small caucus of anti-earmark conservatives, the congressional GOP is every bit as addicted to pork-barrel politics as the Democrats, if not even more so. (Porkbusters)
The Republicans just don't get it. And the Republicans running for President right now don't get it either. Being a greedy pig, upping taxes and being worse than Democrats gets Democrats elected.

I'll say it again: Hail, President Clinton.

Still don't think she can do it sis. I am currently defeated by the thought of voting for Lyin' John (and I don't mean Edwards).

Sigh... maybe I'm just still depressed about Fred but it's tough to see myself voting in November. (not that my vote will make any difference in my state)

I got an email this morning from the RNC asking for money. Their claim is that Obama and Hillary have out raised the Republicans and that the Republicans need conservative money to fight the liberals push for higher taxes, big government, and retreat from the war on terror. I particularly liked the part about how Dems are for big government. Ugh. I hate how the RNC knows they only have to be a bit more conservative than the other guys to get the conservative vote.

My only glimmer of hope is that for all of it's faults and craziness... we live in a strong country. Rome wasn't destroyed in a day and neither will the US be destroyed in a day.

Sigh... I need to go find my happy place. ;)

Every knee shall bow,
Every tongue confess:
Comrade Hillary is LORD!

Better start practicing...
