Good Intentions Pave the Path to Bed

So, last night in the spirit of rejuvinated determination, I made for the bed at a relatively early 11:24 p.m. to read for a few minutes when Little Toot woke up with an ear infection. He did not sleep all night, except for the three hours I brought him into bed with me to sleep on me. For some funny reason, I didn't sleep so well for those three hours either.

My new post-vacation resolutions included going to bed earlier because all the research very clearly links lack of sleep and expanding girth. I can attest to this corrolation--or is it causation? Whatever, it definitely matters in my case. Really, I need to be going to bed by 10 p.m. to get the benefits. If I do that, my "alone time" is only from 8 - 10 p.m. and it really isn't alone 'cuz Dr. You-Know-Who is up and I like adult conversation after a long day. See my dilemma? I might just have to live with the extra weight and sleep deprivation.

Ah come on Dr. M. you know the deal, you have kids you give up sleep. First there are 2 a.m. feedings, then teething, then ear infections, then nightmares. My son hasn't woken me up in the middle of the night in months but now I just automatically wake myself up about 2:30 a.m.

I've had sleep, I've had a kid. Kids are better.

  2. just get up earlier dude. Wake up at 5 and spend your quiet time then. There is something awesome about being up at 4 or 5 in the morning.

Welcome home! The Woodlands is not the same without the Clouthiers.

Getting up at 4:00 or 5:00am is awesome!

  5. Thank you for the welcome.

    Antionette & Chalmers,
Thank you for your kind words of support. Not. I've tried to get up early, but can only sustain the madness for set amount of time.

I know. I know. Early to bed, early to rise, blah, blah, blah... Thanks a lot Ben!

Anyway, it's good to be back. Like the new look?
