The strategy for the new millenium: Cut and Run.
There is a time to cut one's losses, when retreat is the better part of wisdom, when conceding victory in the short term means victory in the long term, but that strategy in Iraq would be disasterous. When does Cut and Run while winning ever make sense? Why does this drumbeat continue to sound, even now, when defeat of the enemy seems more probable than ever?
The Iraqis are hopeful because the enemy within is fighting a losing battle. Those who stand for freedom are winning. The only thing I disagree with Bainbridge (Cut and Run) about, is the fact that he says we're losing. By whose standards are we losing in Iraq?
The most important people in Iraq who believe we're winning? Then Enemy.
