I saw this link over at Anchoress and now Ann Althouse posted her results. She is, not surprisingly, a moderate with a score of 21. She is socially liberal which would pull her scores to the middle. When her critics brand her a conservative, they obviously 1) have a very extreme perspective themselves or 2) don't read her blog regularly. As her commenters note, the quiz is flawed. I hate forced dichotomies, when in reality one doesn't exist. The quiz is full of them.
I am, not surprisingly, rather conservative (I'd say classically liberal) with a score of 34. Big government BUG OUT. So yes, that means I'm not for loads of regulations generally--even if that means some hold-your-nose activities occur. I trust individuals more than I trust the government. Period.
23...Who knew? Thought I was more conservative than that. There were several questions where none of the responses worked for me, so I chose the one that was the least offensive. Ha!
ReplyDeleteSharon,
ReplyDeleteUnderneath that conservative exterior is a wildly moderate one!
Dr. Melissa, I've outdone you! I got a 36! I was quite surprised. (no wonder I like your blog so much...)
ReplyDeleteI scored 35, no surprise to me
ReplyDeleteI scored a 32... I was a bit suprised but there were several questions that had no good answers... among other problems with the "test". The main problem I have with it is that it's right vs left which is not an accurate map of political leanings. You need at LEAST 2 dimensions.
