The Unbearable Lightness of Obama's Blackness of Being

Did you see the Rolling Stone cover with Obama on it? Oh wait, it's right here. Shit. I need to pay more attention to these things. Positively radiant, don't you think?

Ace says this:

I've changed my mind: I want Obama as the Democratic nominee. Not only is he much more beatable than I first thought -- corruption, that Marxist harpy of a wife -- but the media bias should he prevail will be (licks fingers) muah!, magnifique.

They're already melting the fuck down and the guy hasn't even beat the Yoko Ono of politics.

Well I guess Yoko Ono is the Yoko Ono of politics, too. The Yoko Ono of the Clinton Family Band, then.

And over at the Onion this description of the man, the myth, the legend:

--Jesus

--Superman

--The totally awesome, glowing, superhero/savior spawn of Jesus and Superman

--The radioactive president of America's dreams

--A dewy Venus, majestically stepping forth from a serene ocean mist, but, like also a guy who's running for president.

--The late-90s sitcom character, Teen Angel.

--Not just the president of the ShinySuit 3000 Club For Men, but also a client.

--Zeus for a new age.

--Some kind of space hero, or whatever

--Mr. Cloudo, President of Heaven

Obama, radiant. Did I mention amazingly radiant? Super, super cool savior guy.

Melissa, I have a question for you. In lieu of the fact that the internet is accesible to all, does it not worry you that in a number of years your children can read your writing and see you using fucking language the way you do. It seems to be a fucking release for you at the moment and of course, I'm all for that...but I would be a bit worried about my kids reading this from their mom. Just fucking wondering! :-)

  2. Hey now!

In this post I didn't use the word, Ace did, and I'm quoting him. And, nice! You didn't sign your name. Maybe I should be an anonymous blogger!

The kids will know that there are adult words and kid words. They don't read my blog. Probably never will. To them, it's the thing that keeps me busy and not focusing 100% on them. For the time being, my foul mouth is safe from baby ears.

Dear Church Lady, I mean anonymous, surely you jest!!! Step away from the computer and the tv and radio for that matter!

  4. Unfortunately, Obama will probably be the next president because of the perceived (and partly true) colossal political screwup by the Republicans (especially with regards to spending).

It is likely that the Democrats will not only increase their hold in the House, but win a clear majority in the Senate (right now, it's 50-49 with Lieberman shifting back and fourth), which means that Obama won't even have to "bring everyone together." If Bush didn't do it when there was Republican Congressional dominance, you can bet Obama won't either with a likewise Democratic one.

Even if McCain is elected (which I doubt), he will bow to that Congressional reality (a major reason why conservatives are so hesitant to commit to him). My guess is that McCain will use the conservatives to gain the presidency and then cast them off like a bad case of fleas once he's in office.

Do I think Obama will blow out McCain in the national election? Probably not, and it will be a much closer race (popular and electoral) than many pundits think. But win he probably will and at for at least two years, we will see leftist hegemony (increased taxes, military failure and bad international standing here we come). Hmmm...I didn't realize this was so long. I should have just written this on my blog...:oP

Melissa, with my haste this morning checking my usual blogs before leaving, I did not read that Ace is the one saying it here. Sorry!
You would have gotten mad at me had I left my name and I surely don't need one more thing. Plus, anonymous does not mean anonymous anyway which you have mentioned in one of your post before.

Anon:9:24 Please don't call me a church lady. Trust me, it gets a bit colorful around here with my spouse at times. I just know what kids do these days. My kids already show an interest in knowing what blogs I read...and I often share with them if there is something educational or funny to share. Fuck coming from the radio, Tv or computer is different from coming from your mama. Plus, I was not condemning Melissa at all, (it's been interesting and entertaining around here) I simply asked a question because I am a mama as well and I was simply curious what her thinking was on that.

Already starting with the Idealized Pictures of Heroic Dear Leader. Well, I've already seen too many of the same except with Hillary.

(Transferring through Denver last summer, every airport bookstore had not only racks of Hillary's latest book, but entire walls of book covers with Her picture; it was like Enemy at the Gates, where near every shot set in the rubble of Stalingrad included a heroic portrait of Comrade Stalin somewhere in frame.)

P.S. Who's cover artist and art director over at Rolling Stone these days?

Did either or both of them used to work for Dear Leader Comrade Kim Jong-Il?

More updates on the Icon of President Cloudo...

Forwarded the pic to a bud who's up on history; he said Obama's pose, poise, expression, background, and composition is a direct swipe from NSDAP propaganda posters of WW2 showing A.H. as a Heroic Figure, Teutonic Knight, etc.

Can anybody find such a pic to confirm this and put it up side-by-side for comparison?
