Add to this that Flu is often misdiagnosed in children. You cannot believe the number of sick kids I have seen with foul green or yellow goop coming out of them who have been told by a pediatrician that "it's just allergies". Uh, no it's not. And, yes, the child is contagious even if the little urchin does not have a fever.
Parents assume a virus or bacterial infection which are beginning steps on the immune system weakness scale. Allergies indicate bigger immune system dysfunction. Asthma indicates severe immune system distress.
What to do?
- Get the kid lots of water.
- Do NOT give anti-histamines or other plug-them-up meds.
- Give the kid lots of Vitamin C.
- Eliminate all dairy, wheat and sugar.
- Persistant illness indicates sensitivities. Get the kid tested and eliminate the offenders. Remember any stress (food, conflict, toxic environment) inhibits the immune system.
- When in full sickness add Ginsing and B vitamins (B vitamin shortage can make you feel nauseous).
- Rest. Our kids do not get enough sleep. They sit in front of the TV too much. They stay up too late which messes up immune function, impairs growth and healing, brings on early puberty, and makes them behaviorally challenged.
