Conservatives Are Whiny Babies, Ooops! Whiny When Babies

Bush was a happy baby. Maybe that explains his spending like a liberal!

And Liberals are whiny, blamey, fussy-pants as adults. Dr. Dean's primal scream is illustrative here. And Gore's wild-man rants. The examples just keep coming to me but I'll stop.

Read more at Michelle Malkin.

Read a spoof at IMAO (In My Arrogant Opinion for all you Internet-challenged).

Read analysis by Jonah Goldberg.

Dr. Helen says its just more politicization of psychology.

Chris Christner has some interesting statistical correlations you might want to learn about.

When I first heard about this research, I just laughed. So a Berkley professor scrounged up some kids who started out whiny and ended up being conservative? Finding conservative Berkleyites is quite a feat in itself and he should be commended.

My question about the "conservatives" is 1) where are they living--a Texas conservative and a oh, let's see, a Northern California conservative are hardly the same beast 2) do the professors define the person conservative or do the people describe themselves as conservative 3) what is the definition of conservative and how do they define seeing things in "black and white" 4) are their parents conservative 5) how did they vote Republican/Democratic?

I have lots more questions because the study is so durn INANE! Do you see scholarly conservatives (Liberals would smugly point out that finding a scholarly conservative is an oxymoron) trying to diagnose Liberals as psychopaths, I mean they start out as know-it-all bullies who believe in the redistribution of wealth--i.e. give me your lunch money squirt!

Just like trying to understand President Bush's policies and framing them by gender politics, psychologists who try to understand anyone who doesn't think like them in terms of psychopathology is just, and here comes a big psychological term, narcisissitic with a touch of schizoid. I don't think a Berkley Professor has experienced American reality if he has been on that campus for any length of time, which is just how he likes it, no doubt.
