UN Security Council: Worthless On Iran

An editorial in the LA Times talks about the UN Security Council's irrelavence since it was created after WWII. For those waiting for China and Russia to work with France, Britain and the U.S. on a joint resolution, they better be ready to wait, 'cuz it ain't happenin. And, even if it does, Russia and China have little interest in holding Iran's feet to the fire. This is what the Left in the U.S. is counting on because they view any action as illegal.

Certainly no one, including those in leadership positions around WWII wanted to see the evil brewing in Germany. Is anyone thrilled that Iran is strutting around like a peacock threatening everyone? Can anyone afford to take Iran not seriously with China and Russia petting and using her to prick the West? Certainly Iran, and other crazy regimes, must be taken seriously if only because we have nothing to go on but their words.

Right now, Russia and China are building their friendship while the estrangement with the West subtly grows. Russia seeks to turn the former Soviet republics toward her again. China would be happy to have an aggressive Iran. Iran's craziness suits the communist and former communist regimes nicely. (Look at the Map.)

Somehow, I don't see this all ending well.
