The President is Fat, Make That "Chunky": ABC Resorts to Name Calling

Is he a big, FAT poopy head? ABC News, apparently trying to address the heavy issues of the day, seems alarmed at the President's healthy girth. Yeah, right. They managed to quote multiple fretting dieticians to make it sound like they really, really care:

Still, the appropriate body weight range is 157 to 192 pounds for a 5-foot, 11-inch man. Is there cause for alarm? Should the president go on a diet?

Possibly, dietitians say.

"When you're 60 and your BMI is 26, it's a risk," says dietitian Cathy Nonas, a spokeswoman for the American Dietetic Association. "As you get older, you are more prone to other ailments — diabetes, arthritis and cardiovascular disease. It is helpful to not add another BMI point each year."

You know, the "fat issue" is everywhere these days, what with the President's "brother" Billy Bob deciding to give up his wayward lifestyle ways and all. But that is not what this article is about. This article is a barely concealed attempt to poke fun at the President.

President Bush is everything the Yellow Submarine crowd hates: self-disciplined, religious, authoritarian, moderate, reformed and worst of all, a cowboy. Finding the records from a drunken past gave them more thrills than Howard Dean's scream. Every moment they seek to find a chink in the President's righteous armor, hoping to deflate and destroy his clean living, athletic image.

So this is what they resort to: "Na na ne na na! You're fat!"

Man, and here I thought he was just a moron hillbilly. Now I realize he is everything I have always wanted in a President and more! He should have been an Army Ranger instead of a AWOL reservist! Oh yeah, that was before he "reformed."
