Acupuncture Excellent Treatment for Back Pain

As many of you know, Acupuncture gets incorporated into many patient's treatment plans for back pain, fertility difficulties, addiction problems, etc. at our office. As this new research demonstrates, acupuncture is extremely effective as a long-term solution to low back pain.

So-called "conventional medicine" offers little help for back pain sufferers outside of drugs and surgery and both of those options have severe side-effects. Surgery for most back pain is worse than useless and often necessitates another surgery within three years. Both my father-in-law and brother-in-law found that out the hard way. Why won't relatives ever listen?

But I digress. Back pain also often has a profound psychological element--stress can cause a back to "pop" for "no reason". Well, there is almost always a reason. A Chiropractor who specializes in both Chiropractic and Acupuncture will likely give the patient stress-reduction techniques to prevent the next flair-up.

Acupuncture, Chiropractic and Nutrition can help almost any sort of back pain, neck pain, joint pain (including sprains, strains and break rehabs of knees, shoulders, ankles, elbows and wrists) and headaches. Chiropractors tend to be more holistic in their outlook (look at how the knee's bad biomechanics might be throwing off the hip, causing backpain for example or how unbalanced gait can slow an athlete) and tend to want to get the sufferer back in business as soon as possible.

In addition, should a back pain sufferer truly need more drastic intervention, a Chiropractor is likely to know the best surgeons in town and have good referral relationships with them. While back surgery can be bad, bad, back surgery is worse. A referral can save serious grief.
