Rosie O'Donnell Is A Loon

What I find disturbing about The View, isn't just the dull-witted hosts; the more disturbing aspect of The View is that thousands of women watch that forsaken show. These very uniformed women spout nonsense day in and day out and it is hardly challenged. Elizabeth Hasselback is the foil for the ugly, dumber girls who can't get a date. By pounding on her incessantly, all the women live out their young, blond and beautiful loathing fantasies. What's even more galling to them is that Elizabeth is more intelligent than them, too.

So Rosie blithely spouts off a series of conspiracy theories: the U.S. and England let the sailors get caught to start a world war for MONEY! and Tower #7 went down in a controlled demolition, but controlled by who? Hmmmmmmmmmm? Cue the scary music. And the audience claps enthusiastically and Joy Behar nods sagely. Ugh. And American women watch that garbage and feel smugly smart and informed.

Jeff Goldstein has more.

Have you examined the evidence for building 7? How many large skyscraper's do you know of that have completly collapsed due to a couple of little fires?

You would be surprised at just how fragile a steel-framed structure is when exposed to fire. What can seem to be a trivial fire can result in rather high temperatures (as noted in a recent tunnel fire here in Australia).

The highest temperatures soften and even melt the steel (as in the nearly unrecognisable car in the tunnel last week), while the lesser temperatures alter the phase composition of steel, reducing its strength. One one part fails due to heat softening, nearby parts fail due to their changed metallurgy and soon there is a chain reaction.

Actually, a chain reaction like that is the aim of a demolition, but that requires access to all parts of the structure and is not possible to do covertly. People tend to notice det cord and blocks of explosive near their cubicles or around elevator shafts.

Perhaps the reason why some people like the conspiracy idea is that they find it less threatening to believe a government did that rather than a loose network of dedicated people.

However, when you think about it, 9/11 was a remarkably simple plan and it is easy to see how it fell through the holes in the intelligence net. Now that is a discomforting thought.

Ah, the 9/11 Conspiracy Theories begin with the first post in the thread!

To save a 500-post flamewar, just take the number of the "who" in "Controlled by who? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm? Cue the scary music." in your 9/11 Conspiracy Theory:

1) The Vast Right Wing Conspiracy
2) Bushitler
3) Darth Rove
4) Bushitler
5) The RNC
6) Bushitler
7) The Jews
8) Bushitler
9) South Park
10) Bushitler...

What kind of a doctor stoops to berating and belittling? I believe that if you could get past how smart and witty you are and how far above everyone else you might find more than a morsel of truth in Rosie's statements.

Perhaps you have forgotten such words of wisdom as, 'Fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again' — George W. Bush.

Please don’t tell me that he fooled you on that September day!
