State of the Union

Does anyone think that we'll look back some day and pine for George W. Bush? I think we will. Especially when the next president would be putting in place socialist doctrine.

I think George Bush did outstanding! My husband and I were commenting on how confident he had become in the past seven years.

I have to agree that soon enough people will realize that he was a much better president than what people gave him credit for. Sure, he has made his blunders but the man has values and he is not afraid to stick by them.

I always tell my kids to be leaders. Followers jump on the bandwagon and bitch and moan, trying to hide their cowardice. True leaders, however, make a difference! George Bush, in our estimation, has made a difference.

It always happens anyway. Well, almost always. Not much nostalgia for LBJ...but Carter went down a black hole for a few years after 1980 and about 4 years later he came to my university to speak and all sorts of people came out to hear him. And the media seemed more upbeat about him too. But while he was in office, no one spoke well of him while he was in office. He was despised by left and right. Centrists were embarrassed.

It was all rather CS and I make a point of still showing my respect for Bush and not gratuitously trashing him. I hope he gets out of his presidency in one piece with no personal scandal or malicious impeachment.

And no I didn't support the impeachment of Clinton, either.
