It's Florida

Every once in a while I'm right. Here's what I said:

Here's my prediction: Florida will spank UCLA like the undisciplined child they play like. Noah will get 23 points, 7 rebounds and four assists. UCLA will turn the ball over 15 times. It will be a bloodbath. Sports announcers will profess shock and dismay. They will have expected a closer game.

Noah's Stats where thus: 16 points, 9 rebounds and 6 blocks. Dunno about the assists.

Also, can't verify the turnovers by UCLA, but Florida only had six. The final score was 73-57 and Florida controlled the game from the very beginning.

Florida played amazing team ball. Everyone contributed. They have chemistry that will be the envy of the league next year and they are all so young...... Watch out!

Billy Donovan will build an empire. He is a fantastic coach. Always bet on the coach in the big games. He has a stellar future. Florida is going to be a multi-faceted school now. Football may well take a backseat to basketball for a while.

But Joakim Noah deserves huge credit for being the rocket-booster for Florida. The kid has talent oozing out of his pores, but more than that his competitive desire wrapped up in an utterly engaging personality is the stuff that makes legends. He reminds me of a young Ervin Johnson--he has that kind of magic. Big, strong, agile, sure-handed and full of competitive energy. Wow! What fun it is to watch him. He plays for the love and plays for the win on every possession. That makes him a very dangerous man. Or should I say child?

Noah's wide-set, innocent eyes and ants-in-the-pants bubbly energy remind me of a possessed toddler. The combination of childlike charm and fierce spirit will make him a force to reckon with for a long time. Sponsors are licking their collective chops. He's got it.

And so does Florida. Congratulations Florida on one of the most balanced, cohesive, disciplined and well-executed Championship performances I have ever seen. What a team!
