Babies Are Smarter Than You Think

Some research about babies.

  1. Babies learn over time. They prefer the predictable in unpredictable environments and prefer the novel in predictable environments. Don't we all?
  2. Toddlers predict behavior as well as adults. (Some I know predict even better than adults.)
  3. Babies recognize faces better than adults.
  4. Babies are born with "core knowledge". That is, they are not stupid lumps of cells and interstitial fluid at birth.
In fact, babies are so smart, parents might what to reconsider their behavior in front of babies. Hey, what are you thinkin? I was talking about arguing.

Perhaps this means they are also not stupid lumps of cells BEFORE birth...what a thorn in Planned Parenthood's side...
