Filmgoers Not in Mood for Serious Movies

Ya think? That notion hit home to me when I saw the returns for Pirates II, my big summer movie disappointment. (Forget the money, I do not have two and half hours to waste in such an inane way. Oy!) The movie sucked, but it was pure escapism, I'll give it that. So the Nicolas Cage movie (good grief when will Hollywood learn? Nick Cage is NOT a leading man. He isn't even pleasant to look at. Enough already!) is not doing so great while Will Farrell's antics and a teen dance movie kick it's depressing ass. Not at all surprised.
