Autism Gene

A gene linked to Autism and immune function, gut function and neurodevelopment has been discovered. This is very exciting. Doctors poo-pooed parents' insistence that their children had gut problems for years. They also dismissed the obvious-to-parents regressions that the children had. The immune problems are significant, too. Wildly high fevers, a hot-to-the-touch head but no fever, sensitivity to heat causing hives to break out, wheezing upon exersion that is not exactly allergies but disruptive to an activity none-the-less, the list of weird symptoms is endless and confounding.

Maybe this research is the beginning of the cure. I'm always hopeful.
