Iraq Massacre

What we can expect more massacres should the U.S. leave Iraq right now. I am of the mind that the U.S. should have acted Imperial and taken over from stem to stern. Nation-building doesn't happen overnight when the populace is ready for it and Iraq wasn't ready.

As the military cleans the country up, the leadership vacuum created by a twenty-year dictatorship becomes more evident. A generation will have to pass before Iraqis integrate the notions of rule of law and justice. A certain basic morality underpins democracy.

Let's hope Iraqis desire peace and prosperity more than vengeance and hatred for people of different belief systems.
